Before going any further on this I made a couple observations. Maybe there might be some suggestions here.
My main TV is using an Apple 4K, hardwired ethernet. This is where I am having the issue with the A/V sync. I replaced the HDMI cable to eliminate that. Yes it is the latest High Speed version. I played with the audio and video settings but didn't make any difference.
I had a ROKU on an older TV. I tried the recording there and it seemed to be ok. The A/V was in sync at the same location I had issue with on the Apple TV. So it appears the issue might be associated with the Apple TV??? I am going to temporarily move the ROKU to the same TV that the Apple is on and see what happens there.
But if any of this sheds any light and anyone has any suggestions as to what I might try next, I would appreciate it.
EDIT: Ok, moved the ROKU to the same TV as the Apple. Playback seemed to be OK again on the ROKU. So definitely something to do with the Apple TV unit. I changed HDMI ports just to be sure but no change there.
As a side note, I played the recording on my IPAD. Same issue with the A/V sync. So it seems there is something about the Apple Apps maybe?
Everything is up to date on firmware, etc.

Re: Using MAC for Storage
OK, it's definitely something to do with the Apple system. I tried 3 different ROKU's, 3 different TV's, including the one the Apple is on. In all cases the ROKU worked fine. No issues with A/V sync. But the Apple is consistently getting off.
Any Thoughts from anyone?
EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't have any issues with any of the other apps on my Apple. Just the HDHomerun.

Please get one of the affected recordings to us so we can test it. If we see the same issue then our engineering team can look into it and see why it's happening. We prefer a shorter one just because it takes less time to upload and download, but an hour long show is fine if you don't have any shorter ones that have the issue.
