HDHomeRun Flex 4K Disconnects

Post by tvillini »

Did a search, but couldn't really find anything. Long and short is ever 10-20 minutes my HDHR disconnects from Channels DVR. From the channels side I see this:

And the corresponding message in the HDHR logs:

20260322-18:25:40 Tuner: tuner2 streaming http to 192.168.50.11:58885
I've done some searching. I saw that this could because of a "too strong" signal, which I'm close to the towers in town. I put a pad inline to bring the signal down without killing the quality. I also read that it doesn't like a lot of network hops. It's connected to a "Media Gateway" which is just an ASUS router that's acting as an ETH > Wifi gateway, and that gateway should be fixed to the mesh node that has my channels running on it.

I hadn't had this issue until recently, about the time I did a firmware upgrade to the HDHR. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

This pretty clearly looks like a network connection issue, but if you want to turn on the sending of diagnostic information on the HDHomeRun's System Menu page and then reply back with the time it happens next we can double check.

At 22:55 the device rebooted because someone in your home triggered a firmware update on it. The issues after that were network problems, presumably with that wireless hop. Easiest way to confirm would be to move the DVR server to connect to the same router as the HDHomeRun, thus eliminating that wireless hop.
