When starting HDHomeRun this morning (on FireStick 4K Max) HDHR came online in its normal fashion. However, when I scrolled to "Recorded", the library would not come up other than available for recording. I tried several things based on my old ***** woes with the same sort of success that caused me to dump *****. Finally, pulled the plug on the entire entertainment system (which is on a UPS). When brought back up everything returned to normal and no recordings were lost.
Is there a way to Restart the HDHR via the settings "*" without going through the physical power cycling?
Restart menu option?
Re: Restart menu option?
Checking, did you try exiting the app and launching it again before restarting everything? The HDHomeRun hardware should never need to be rebooted.
Re: Restart menu option?
To my knowledge, there is not a way to initiate a restart/reboot of the hardware via the app.DaveR849 wrote: Sat Oct 04, 2025 3:56 am Is there a way to Restart the HDHR via the settings "*" without going through the physical power cycling?
But you can do it with hdhomerun_config:

In particular, note the option /sys/restart.
Re: Restart menu option?
Yes, I did exit and return a couple of times. I also restarted the FireStick which has a menu driven reset.nickk wrote: Sat Oct 04, 2025 7:56 am Checking, did you try exiting the app and launching it again before restarting everything? The HDHomeRun hardware should never need to be rebooted.
