Restart menu option?

Post by DaveR849 »

When starting HDHomeRun this morning (on FireStick 4K Max) HDHR came online in its normal fashion. However, when I scrolled to "Recorded", the library would not come up other than available for recording. I tried several things based on my old ***** woes with the same sort of success that caused me to dump *****. Finally, pulled the plug on the entire entertainment system (which is on a UPS). When brought back up everything returned to normal and no recordings were lost.

Is there a way to Restart the HDHR via the settings "*" without going through the physical power cycling?

Checking, did you try exiting the app and launching it again before restarting everything? The HDHomeRun hardware should never need to be rebooted.

To my knowledge, there is not a way to initiate a restart/reboot of the hardware via the app.

But you can do it with hdhomerun_config:

https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/hdhomer ... run_config

In particular, note the option /sys/restart.

Yes, I did exit and return a couple of times. I also restarted the FireStick which has a menu driven reset.
