They want to send us back to the stone age so they can gate keep and charge us for what we currently get free on ATSC 1.0. They (the networks) are trying to strong arm the broadcasters so OTA can become inferior version of cable. Or at least that's my perspective as a consumer whose seeing right through the greedy networks. If they want to be cable TV, then they should just abandon OTA and move to cable. See how that works out for those greedy (use your imagination)!HoTst2 wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:54 amOr specifically it's the Gateway devices that conveniently allow viewing and DVR'ing of ATSC 3.0 broadcast content to multiple clients over a home network they seem to want banned.DennisFL wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 7:13 am Huawei is irrelevant. They want to ban gateway devices and DVRs.
For clarification of my perspective... The Networks are Lex Luthor and they want to blow up California (OTA broadcast) so their worthless wasteland (cable tv) will be more valuable. DRM is the nuclear missile that needs to be stopped.
