Re: EPG info for Kodi also transcoding

US ATSC stations are required to transmit at least 12 hours of EPG data, and these days you'll generally find at least that much on the major networks and subchannels. You're right about the poor quality of the data though. Not really suitable for DVR use. sub, have you heard of anyone using the XML...

Re: List of ATSC 3.0 stations?

Most antennas aren't good below about channel 20. The UHF portions are designed to operate either to channel 51 or 69 depending on the age, and the higher the frequency where the peak gain is located, the worse off the lower frequencies will be since the elements aren't the right size. This wasn't u...

Re: Video errors even with great signal?

Looks like the meter operates on the 2.4GHz wifi band and the 900MHz cellular band, so it shouldn't have any impact on channel 22, certainly no worse than a cell phone or wifi device would. A security camera is probably either PoE and not transmitting wirelessly at all, or powered and using standard...

Re: List of ATSC 3.0 stations?

HEVC is in use in most or all of the markets, but you can expect that most of the services will still be 480i, 720p, or 1080i, and maybe some higher res tests, or perhaps some stations that upscale the 1080i feed from the network to 1080p or something like that. I'd like to see some stations start d...

Re: prime 6

The rough ambitions were to release at the end of 2018, and for various and sundry reasons that didn't happen. They've already said they aren't going to announce any other timeframe until they're at a point where they know they can hit it, so figure that the first real word you hear will be when the...

Re: Pixelation on Bottom of Picture

On Windows it's easy to test. If you have the Microsoft MPEG-2 whatsit installed, the HDHomeRun app will offload decoding to the GPU (assuming you have a GPU that isn't 3 generations obsolete and can decode MPEG2). You can uninstall that whatsit via Window Settings > Apps, and then the HDHomeRun app...

KFPH-CD is broadcasting ATSC 3. KASW is supposed to switch over Any Day Now after major COVID-related delays, though they've apparently run out of money and cancelled 2 of their DTS sites (serving Gila Bend and Queen Creek). LOL @ 4K/HDR on broadcast TV. Networks and stations don't have the infrastr...

Re: All tuners in use?

In those logs, weird stuff is happening because you're trying to tune channels the instant the device is even available on the network. The CableCARD hasn't even fully initialized yet, so it's not decoding the channels and that's causing weird stuff to happen. Give it at least 30 seconds to a minute...

Re: HDHR Prime CC+tuning adapt. - lost single channel KCAL 5

5 is KTLA. KCAL is 9.

What do the signal numbers show on the tuner status page when you're tuned to whichever one of those is the actual problem? Particularly the frequency, signal strength, signal quality, and symbol quality.

Re: HDhomerun software overlay interface not working

I agree with jasonl on that... you may even have to get an "official" uninstaller. One other program that long ago had similar behavior with other software was MBAM if the premium active features were ever enabled, turning such off did no good and required an uninstall and reinstall without ever ma...

Re: HDhomerun software overlay interface not working

Disabling Norton does nothing. It's embedded so deep you can't effectively disable it and it will cause problems as long as it's installed. Uninstall it, reboot, and then see how things look.
