Re: HDHR-US pixelating (also wondering if newer/beta FW available)

There is a hardware bug in all but the latest generation or two of NVIDIA's video decoding that causes video corruption on certain streams. The video encoder used by KXAS and many other stations across the country generates streams that trigger this bug. To the best of everyone's knowledge, the stre...

Re: HDHomeRun Prime & Cox TV - Tuning Adapter Required?

Sierra Vista can typically get ABC, CW, NBC, Univision, and Unimás without too much trouble, and maybe PBS with the right location, a big antenna, and lots of luck. CBS and Fox are very unlikely. Did Cox tell you to take your equipment with you? It isn't always possible to move equipment between two...

Re: Remove channels from HDHomerun view app

Go to my.hdhomerun.com, click on your channel count, and click the star next to the channel twice to turn it to an X to disable it.

Re: ATSC 3.0: Washington, DC / Baltimore, MD

Low-power stations are still regularly lighting up new broadcasts all over the country, so that would kind of defeat the purpose. SD really needs to fix their handling of duplicate virtual channel numbers.

Re: Block A Channel

Where do you find filters like that with F connectors? I see plenty of them with SMA connectors for SDR setups, but finding filters for things other than LTE with F connectors is difficult these days.

Re: ATSC 3.0 signal quality VS ATSC

Getting the antenna up higher might help. The combination of low power, the ATSC 3 transmitting antenna being much lower in elevation than your other station (745' vs. 1000-1250'), and the hills in your area make the reception spotty.

Re: Samsung Fridge/ Family Hub App support desprately needed

SD wasted a lot of time and money in the past developing for Samsung's platforms only to have Samsung pull the rug out from under them on multiple occasions. I wouldn't count on SD trying again.

Re: W7 WMC scanning channels

At one time, one of the specs did explicitly list HDMI and DVI as supported outputs for DRM content, so at least there was potentially a justification for Microsoft doing that. IIRC, Ceton was able to get CableLabs to revise the spec to change that, but by then WMC development was dead so it was mos...

Re: since new updates not compatible with router

The only thing I can think of that would cause one to work but not the other would be an IP conflict, typically because you have something on the network set to a static IP and the router is assigning the same IP to the HDHomeRun. Best to either leave everything DHCP and set up reservations in your ...

Re: HDHR-US No Channels Found

Unless you know for a fact the power supply is fairly recent, it's probably the power supply. Any wall wart inevitably starts to go bad after about 5 years, and that device is about 10 years old, so it's probably due.

Re: ATSC 3.0 signal quality VS ATSC

The second one is indeed a log periodic. The idiot Chinese company screws up the description even worse every time they change the name they're selling as, but in spite of that, it's still probably the best < $25 antenna out there. Amplification is going to depend on how far you are from the broadca...

Any data points on how 1080i 50Hz AVC channels are handled, since that would be the prevailing HD video format outside North America?

Re: ATSC 3.0 signal quality VS ATSC

What antenna are you using? Many antennas have poor performance at the bottom of the UHF allocation due to limitations imposed by the design and/or physics. This isn't usually an issue on full-power stations because the lower frequency gives them a stronger signal at the same power level compared to...

Re: Tuner use on LAN

The HDHomeRun software installer runs the loopback fix. Sometimes it doesn't take, or gets reset by Windows, or whatever. It is documented in the DVR troubleshooting. https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/dvr:tro ... t_find_dvr
