Re: Stop recording program
If you have a recording you will see it in recordings. And that also shows upcoming episodes for that show not necessarily if it will be recorded or not (the red dot is a fairly good indicator of a candidate to be recorded but if such was deleted from tasks, you shouldn't see any red dots ...

Re: Stop recording program
Delete the rule (task) prior to the scheduled start time (preferably 8 hours prior just to make sure) one does this from tasks, priority, show, trash can, delete (i think one could also do such from upcoming but that may require upcoming episode and/or recorded episode).
......
Best solution is ...

Stop recording program
Hi,
On my FLEX 4K, how do I stop recording a TV show? Not a single episode but to stop recording any episodes of that show now and in the future?
I know I can only delete individual episodes one at a time (huge hassle since all 9 seasons are recorded) but I can't find any way to stop the ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
[*]Can I send my unit back to you and you fix my actual unit instead of sending me a refurbished unit? This way when I get it back I know what was wrong and can keep an eye peeled for this one particular issue.
Given the symptom the unit will be replaced, not repaired. The old unit will be ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
The warranty is the original warranty, or the RMA date + 90 days, whichever is longer.
Hi Nickk,
That's good to hear that I'll at least have a little time to verify the replacement unit works properly.
What about someone there going through your supply of refurbished units to find one ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
So you can assure me that the exchanged unit I receive is effectively brand new, never connected, never used. Just purchased by an Amazon customer and then returned in brand new condition?
Not sure how you are getting "never connected, never used" from my post. No such assurance will be made ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
BTW - Refurbished units are almost always from unwanted-purchase returns. We have Amazon set to return to us rather than put back on the shelf as new. We run all unwanted-purchase returns through full production testing and load testing when we get them back.
Hi Nickk,
So you can assure me ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
Hi jph,
What??? Why would I not want it fixed? I don't know what you read that makes you think I don't want it fixed but I absolutely do want a working DVR. But I also don't want to get someone else's broken device.
Maybe you've had good luck with refurbished devices. If so, that's great for you ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
Hi Nickk,
When you take your car into the shop, when you pick it up what's the first thing you do? You try to reproduce the issue. If it made a funny noise when turning left, the first thing you do is turn left.
With a refurbished unit I have no idea what happened to the device. Maybe it was some ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
Hi Nickk,
Yes the external drive has its own power supply.
No, I did not intentionally power cycle the FLEX 4K at either of those times. I did it yesterday (Friday, Oct 31, 2025) in the morning.
Does the log show the reason for the power cycle?
Larry.
P.S. I'm waiting to hear back from you ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
Hi Nickk,
What I don't understand is why the logging is only for a limited time. This makes diagnosing issues like this one really difficult.
Speaking as a retired software developer there should be some flag that could be set to start logging and would keep logging until the flag is changed. You ...

Re: HDHomeRun FLEX 4K crashing regularly for nearly 2 years!
Hi Nickk,
Are the diagnostic logs the same ones I can view as, "System Logs?"
If not, how can I check them from here?
If these are logs that are available there but not on my device, shouldn't this information been available to help to diagnose the issue almost 2 years ago?
Thanks,
Larry.
