Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

Does not work. I must have Samsung TV and or Visio Sound bar that does not support the superduper Dolby Digital or AC3 audio over HDMI and god forbid they could just send it in mono or that 1980s Dolby digital.... sigh. Hey good news is at least I don't have to scramble for the mute button when tho...

Installed on TCL Roku TV 49S405, on software 9.0.0. I can choose a channel, then a program but it kicks back to the channels.
Is your HDHomeRun an OTA model or a PRIME?

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

With my Streaming Stick+ (3810X) and Connect (HDHR4-2US), although many of my local Channels stream, none have sound. Display is a "Basic" ASUS Monitor (VC239H), using its built-in speakers. Although I have read some people have been able to obtain audio by selecting HDMI (Dolby Digital), all that ...

Re: HDHomeRun OTA Live for Roku

Having a little trouble setting this up on my parents' Roku 3. Video works, but no audio. They have an older Samsung TV made before the days of Dolby Digital (It has TruSurround). They have a Vizio soundbar hooked up, but there is no HDMI input, so we are using Optical audio. Reading the blog post,...

Can I record Roku content to my hard drive on my computer with this? :D
Nope, this is just playing back signal from the HDHomeRun tuner. It's like a one-way street. The HDHomeRun has no way of seeing what's on the Roku, but the Roku can see what's on the HDHomeRun.

This is indeed good news but remember this? We are making the player app available for: Windows Mac Android And if our stretch goals are met: iOS Kodi We are making the storage/record engine available for: WD My Cloud NAS products Windows Mac Linux QNAP (current/recent generations) Synology (curren...

Re: Should we be concerned?

I think that says more about how few people there are in Montana than how many people aren't watching cable TV ;)

(no offense to the find people of Montana)

Besides, HDHomeRun welcomes cord cutters.

Re: Unable to play channel

Couldn't be a DRM issue, 104 would mean it's a 4th gen CONNECT.

Have you tried rebooting your DVR box? The DVR engine might be using a stale channel list.

Re: Mac 20190603beta1 New UI Black Screen

This seems to be a tricky one to nail down, but the programmers are working on it. Just to note that it is not unusual for macOS development hardware to run with System Integrity Protection set to off. I don't know if it makes a difference because I have not tired it but, for reference, my system h...

Can I get you to double check that Device ID for me? It's not coming up as a valid ID in our system.

Re: Pre-order Now

because of the plug and play no fuss could put SD at a level to compete and surpass Amazon's product for the fact it can be used to record cable also well... not yet. not until DRM support comes online. Not all cable providers use DRM restrictions on all or most of their channels. For example, Comc...

Re: 4k and Roku support

They are both OTA Scribe has OTA tuners built in, but it can also record from other HDHomeRun devices on the network, including HDHomeRun PRIME. Servio has no tuners and only records from other HDHomeRun devices on the network. There you go. That is what I was saying. How is this substantiated? Not...

Re: When are we going to get a clock?

It is also a little strange having an apparent SD employee promoting Kodi giving the impression this (IMO) basic stuff will not be implemented in the HDHR app. Yeah, is he actually pushing the user towards using KODI? Is that what it's come to here? Telling people about software that works with HDH...
