Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

I'm in SoCal with Charter/Spectrum, and none of our HD channels are H.264. While most HD streams are usually about 8Mbps, I have seen them up to 15Mbps or so at times. While that's only 90Mbps, it's still quite a bit of bandwidth and could cause some issues, especially if you are streaming 6 HD spo...

Re: When the Prime 6 comes out, how many are you planning on getting

It's technically possible that one could overwhelm 100meg ethernet, by finding the largest (bandwidth wise) channel example and multiplying that by six. It's just highly unlikely to come across that situation naturally, IMO, and is quite the edge case. Especially since a lot of cable providers are f...

Re: Did I miss the New Firmware announcement ?

On that I agree entirely. No one should have to decipher the URLs for the firmware .bin files, or any other normal support file. We have much to improve upon when it comes to our support documentation and links.

Re: Samsung tv series 7

This was before my time (though I do recall hearing about it back when I was just a user), but there were at least two attempts to get something running directly on Samsung TVs, but both times Samsung either changed the API or otherwise pulled the plug on us. It's frustrating, because those TVs have...

Re: Did I miss the New Firmware announcement ?

While they do list the latest release firmware on the Linux download page, it's quite unintuitive. They still haven't fixed the download links on the Linux page yet. I had to guess at what the download URL should be to get the .bin files. It's the same every time. Silicon Dust wants to be in charge...

Re: SD addon for KODI not working

Were you using the official addon in the Video section of Kodi or the unofficial PVR addon (before you tried the zuki one)? It sounds like it was the latter. You should install the official addon from the Video section and try that. Stock one that came with it Zoltan 3.5.0.3 The PVR ones are techni...

Re: InstaTV on Apple TV will not play certain shows recorded rom HDHR Prime

It's hard to say what the issue might be when it comes to third party apps like this. I did just now poke the MrMC guys to see if they would be interested in adding djp952's DVR add-on (they might have already been asked, but I don't recall offhand). That's still a third party solution, so it always...

Re: Missing channels...

Hi, I suspect I have signal issues also caused by too much signal (about 3km direct line of sight to the tower). I will buy https://www.jaycar.com.au/4g-lte-filter-for-digital-tv-reception/p/LT3062 tomorrow and try it. Regarding attenuation, one of the guys at work said instead of using attenuators...

Re: iOS 12.2 update?

I'm entirely uninvolved with this area of the company (I'm no programer, haha), but I'd like to bring a little perspective: Considering the issue appears to have been caused by an Apple mistake, I wouldn't assume that early testing on iOS 12.2 betas would have caught the issue. This could have been ...

Re: Black and White Bar On Top Of Video

That's most likely embedded into the TV signal itself. Even if your TV's internal tuner input doesn't say "overscan", it's probably still compensating for that tiny bit, as it's very common to see on standard definition channels.

Re: HDHomeRun Prime 6 update?

I am wondering if cable companies will allow you 6 channels without charging more for more than 2 channels. Having 6 wont mean much if you cant use them As far as I know, most cable companies view the cableCARD device as a single entity, regardless of how many channels it tunes, and any charges are...

Can you also fill out a support ticket (if you haven't already) and point to this thread? Just to make sure this is fully on our radar.

Re: Sinclair Planning to Rollout ATSC 3.0 this year

NedS: HDHR is transmitting device identifiers and channel lists over the Internet unprompted by anything all by itself. It can sit there with nothing at all accessing it and it will still send data. It's not downloading guide data. The only communication happening over the internet is when the HDHR...
