The only codec that may need cloud transcode is AC4 depending on the player device. It means the app requested AC3 digital passthrough and FireOS rejected the request.

The app will only show the popup once each launch so as not to bug you each channel change.

If your LG television can run the HDHomeRun app try that as a test.

On the Apple TV try forcing HDR.

With HEVC the video decode and HDR is handled by the hardware rather than the HDHomeRun app.

That will work.

Unrelated issue.

Can you please restart the app - if it picks up the UI update it should give you a better error message.

The symptom suggests the HDHomeRun is unable to communicate with our TV guide servers.
