Usage when Internet is down

Post by tjp »

I recall a post here from Nick a couple of months ago saying updates were rolling out that would permit the HDHR app to work when there's a temporary Internet outage. I lost my Internet for a couple of hours this week and I tried using HDHR on my nvidia shield (Flex 4 OTA tuner). I saw the splash screen. Then nothing but a black screen. So, this didn't work for me. When the Internet was back up I double checked to see if the HDHR app was current. It was and there where no pending updates (I don't recall the ver number).

Did the Android apps ever get this update?

Yes, offline support was added as of like mid-July. The app needs to have been run once while online in order to cache the interface, but once it fails to connect to the server you should get an option to continue and then will be able to watch live and recorded TV (recorded requires a DVR, of course).
