Odd channel showing up after rescan

Post by Dynaud »

Hi
After a fresh channel rescan on my HDHomeRun (OTA), one channel started showing a looping roulette-style graphic with the name “Roulettino” in the guide. I expected a local info or shopping channel, but it’s just the same spinning visuals over and over, no real programme. This only appeared after I moved the antenna slightly and rescanned, so maybe it’s picking up something marginal from my area. I’m clearly no expert, I tried hiding it from the app but it still pops back after each rescan. Has anyone else seen something like this, or found a clean way to block these odd channels without breaking the lineup?

On any modern HDHomeRun device (HDHR4, HDHR5, HDFX) you should be able to disable the channel by select the star icon next to it in the channel lineup twice, which will turn it to a red X, indicating that it is disabled. That channel number should remain disabled during different rescans. If the local broadcaster is doing something that causes the channel number to change over time, then it may need to be re-disabled in the future. If you want to turn on the sending of diagnostic data on the HDHomeRun, run a channel scan, and reply back with the device ID, we can review the logs and see how things look. Some countries like Italy have a lot of random local channels on their OTA broadcasts, while others like France, the UK, and Australia may have just 1-2 or none at all (ignoring region-specific variants of national channels like France 3, BBC, and the major Australian networks).
