20251027-00:59:31 Recording: no tuners available to record Maigret on Masterpiece S01E04 20251026 [20251027-0100]

The Simpsons started at 8:00 and I pad an additional 30 minutes since it sometimes starts late. Tracker and Maigret should have been recorded at 9:00 (I have two tuners), but neither recorded.

Incidentally, skipping forward in the Roku app recordings no longer crashes unless you happen to try to skip beyond real time. In that case, the app goes black and freezes.

If you only have a duo, and you were watching something, that would be expected with 30 minute padding if there was any pre padding on the other show as the tuners would be in use when it tries to start the next one, cutting that back a minute ir two would help. It would probably be a little more interesting to see what happened at 8 with tracker for the file state to fail and the log of the hdhr at the same time (note time stamps are utc)

Yeah, make sure Tracker and Maigret don't have any pre-padding, like the default 30 second padding.

Any thoughts on the Roku app blanking if you try to skip ahead beyond real time? I also lose my place and the replay starts from the beginning. Would be nice if fast forward worked instead of just skipping.

I have had recordings fail and I think it has to do with the ATSC3.0 broadcast signal. If your PBS recording were the ATSC3.0 broadcasts that might explain it. I have seen people complain about the reliability of ATSC3.0 as the broadcasts seem to have technical issues now and then.

I have had no problems with other PBS programs. I believe the problem does have to do with padding, but I believe this is a bug.
If you recording on channel A with the default padding of 30 seconds, and this is immediately followed by N recordings (where N is the number tuners) with the default 30 seconds pre-record there is an immediate conflict.
The software should repeatedly attempt to execute the recordings until the tuners are free. I am not sure the software does this.
