Quatro Communication Error

Post by yespage99 »

Hello. First off, I'm liking how easy the App works with the device! Very easy!

I recently setup the Quatro device. Occasionally a "communication error" message pops up with a black screen I was uncertain if this is an OTA signal issue (which I haven't seen a specific error like that before) or whether it is a communication error specifically with the router.

I'm using the Google iOS app on my Sony TV. I've experienced an utterly unusable app (Willow) because of that later mentioned issue. The error doesn't occur too often (but around 10 to 15 minutes for 35.3), so hard to get a feel yet whether it is the antenna or not. Online, the HD local site indicates 79% signal strength (35.3).

The bolded text looks like a loss with the router, not the antenna. The picture quality is fine and shows no struggling. I also recorded a few things and there doesn't appear to be a gap. So that all adds together to me to indicate it is the Google App trying to manage my Router's behavior.

I'm going to try the FireStick app and see if this is Google iOS and the router having their spat.

Can you please enable enable "send diagnostic information" in the HDHomeRun app, then post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.

Seems like it was the Google iOS app that is causing trouble (and I think it is also my router or fiber connection as well). The FireStick App is working flawlessly, as far as I can tell. Recording appears fine, no communication error.

The router does seem unhappy. What kind of router is it?

AT&T, BGW210. I've never been able to determine if the drops in signal, not uncommon but always very brief as in 15 or so seconds, are Router or the Fiber connection. It usually doesn't impact me too badly, so I haven't dug in too deep.

Otherwise, with HD Homerun, loving it. Wish the interface was a bit easier to use, but it is a homerun for me.
