HDHomeRun Prime Firmware Enhancement?
When I view the tuner status webpage for my Primes, signal strength in dBmV and signal quality in dB are displayed alongside the percentage equivalents. However, when I send a status.json request for the tuner, only the percentages are returned. Is it possible for the firmware to be enhanced to also return SignalStrengthDBmV and SignalQualityDB values for status.json requests?

Probably, but nickk has previously suggested that those details should not be needed: viewtopic.php?p=404434#p404434KeithAbbott wrote: Fri Aug 15, 2025 10:38 am When I view the tuner status webpage for my Primes, signal strength in dBmV and signal quality in dB are displayed alongside the percentage equivalents. FWIW, I don't recall the status.json response for the later gen (OTA) gen tuners include the detailed dBmV / dB values either (just percentages), so it would presumably be a global feature enhancement.
According to previous SD statements, the HDHR3-CC has ended feature development (bug fixes will continue for the foreseeable future), so I doubt too many of the long standing wish list items that have been requested over the many years to enhance those older gen products are going to happen (unless you can figure out how to turn an enhancement request into a bug report and have it accepted as such).

Yeah, I know it's a long-shot, but then again it can't hurt to ask.
The detailed dBmV / dB values are present within the current OTA tuners, they are just disabled unless you have a DEV unit. I upgraded to DEV units awhile back, it has helped me optimize my antennas immensely.
p.s. nickk was referring to signal strength/quality information during a channel scan, not during actual usage of the tuner. Using dBmV information captured during Prime tuner usage, I found that putting an inline 8db attenuator consistently dropped my signal strength down within the range recommended by nickk (-6dBmV (90%) to 0dBmV (100%) is perfect for cable TV).

Well, then, maybe the TECH3-CC supports those additional values (nickk?)? If not, at least for the TECH (DEV) models, it is arguably a more reasonable ask than the non-TECH (DEV) models. Good luck.KeithAbbott wrote: Mon Aug 18, 2025 12:27 pm The detailed dBmV / dB values are present within the current OTA tuners, they are just disabled unless you have a DEV unit.
