No guide data for any channel

Post by mooninite »

Model: HDHR5-4K
Device ID: 1080291F
Firmware: 20250623
Location: Texas, USA, Dallas / Fort Worth

Client: ****
****'s HDHomeRun client addon: https://github.com/****-pvr/pvr.hdhomerun/

Guide data stopped working yesterday afternoon. I've tried restart ****, clearing PVR data, etc. Nothing helped. This setup has worked great for years.

Edit: I see my client is a "banned" word. Is this client blocked from using the guide as of yesterday? I do not see any announcement on this. Thanks.

It's been a banned word for many years as industries SD needs to work with can't distinguish between the great legal software offering and the "synonymous" illegal boxes.

First thing i would double check is your dvr subscription is valid as guide data download depends on that.

Also note some may have older record engines that need updating (should not affect guide as that is from the hdhomerun) and that for guide to exist the tuners must be able to connect to SD to maintain DeviceAuth.

Edit: I just realized you probably weren't referring to the zuki add-on (didn't look closely at link because of the banned word) that most in the forum using k used . For many years some addons were "illegally" scraping guide data and some of those methods have been shut down particularly when they do multiple requests (which would be needed for more than 4 hours of data). I know at one time they required certain software to present an app key, but most moved on to the xml data available with dvr subscription.

I also just noticed everything (but stickies) in 3rd party is now "empty" probably as no one has asked about 3rd party software for a long time.

Looks like the API endpoint has changed.

My client attempts to pull the guide from https://my.hdhomerun.com/api/guide.php but that is now returning a HTTP 301 (Permanent redirect) to https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/start that is a web browser HTML page and not guide data.

The info.hdhomerun.com site does not show any API endpoints. I'll try contacting SiliconDust.

they deprecated the use of using "my." for the api years ago but until recently "my." did properly redirect to the new subdomain for the api. You might figure it out if you look at what the other apis use for the dvr/app, I won't publicly post such as guide isn't supposed to be public because of the way some would try to scrape and abuse such api calls.

This is probably also the reason for the old recording engines now needing to be updated as well as 10-12 years ago the dvr/app always used "my." or some even used mytest. Neither of which should be used.

I was able to deduce the new host and guide data is now returned. I have created a pull request with the addon so its fixed for other users. I would link it here but it would be a broken URL.
