New beta firmware issue

Post by Justin.U »

I was finally able to do the firmware update now since I did it my channels on ATSC 3.0 is Frozen On One frame it doesn't move or anything it turns into it with no audio just freezes on one frame it's like it's stuck on a commercial. Can you please fix the issue so I can watch ATSC 3.0. send diagnostic is turned on and ran a whole new channel scan and tuned into the channel and tried to watch it for a few minutes and nothing it was just froze on a picture one frame no nothing you know audio or video movement.

Is this happening on all the ATSC 3.0 channels?

Is it happening on multiple different viewing devices or just a specific one?

If you tune a channel, see the frozen frame, go to a different channel, then back to the first one, is it still the same frame as before or is it a different frame?

It's happening on all the ones that are not DRM and it happens across all my devices when I tune into any of them I tried on my iPad I tried on my Samsung phone I tried on my on box any device that I own I cannot tune into them it's just froze on one frame on each Channel. I can switch to ATSC 3.0 but they all have different frames per Channel but if you go back to one you recently previewed it is the same Freeze Frame it's been stuck on that for a couple hours now. Ever since I did this stupid firmware update. they're not all on the same freeze but they don't play at all they just come in with that theme on the frame that is frozen. But I can tune into any 1.0 with no problem and they play in have picture and sound

I can see that the issue hasn't been fixed on ATSC 3.0 still can't tune into those channels because the frames are frozen on all the channels not including the ones that are DRM because you can't tune into them. I hope you get it fixed or I can watch those channels.

So if you go into a channel today, it is showing the same frozen frame that same channel was showing on Thursday?

If you reboot the HDHomeRun and try again, is it still that same frame?

I went into the channel twice today the three different channels that are not DRM and I see the same free screen on them as I did Thursday nothing has changed you can't watch them. Ever since I did the new beta firmware that's what happened with those channels now they're just showing frozen frame. Since Thursday it's the same one I did reboot the app and unplugged my HD home runs and nothing is fixing them.

Yes if I reboot and same frozen frame since Thursday on the three channels that are not DRM

Sure sounds like the encoder is no longer being fed with the various video streams and is just sending out a continuous stream of the last frame it received on each channel. Debug capture will confirm though.

I agree with Jason - most likely a broadcast problem that the station fixed. We have seen this happen before where the input stage of the encoder at the broadcaster stops accepting new frames from SDI and repeats a still image.
