Point config to Media Player Classic over VLC

Post by geriakt »

How do I get HD Config or HD setup to use my K-Lite Media Player Classic ( which has Hevc and AC4) over the current VLC player? Can this be done easily with HD Setup or even in a Config terminal window in Windows 11pro?

There isn't a way to change the player. The best option is to open http://hdhomerun.local/lineup.m3u in the player, then turn on the Playlist (View > Playlist) and just double click on the channel in that list to switch to it.

This did help and thank you.
It shows to me my Windows 11pro is playing back ATSC 3.0 HEVC/AC4 5.1 through the Media Player Classic, but when I use the HDHOMERUN Player on Windows 11Pro I get an error window that my computer is not set up for 5.1 surround. I am not sure why when it seems I am getting 5.1 with MPC sent through my AVR.

What type of connection are you using between the PC and receiver?

The HTPC is connected to the tv via HDMI/display cable and the tv feeds the sound to the AVR by the S/PDIF. The AVR does have codecs for DTS. I have adjusted some settings in my K-Lite Codec Tweak tool under Direct show Filters and Audio output so I know I am getting 5.1 audio output even with the HDHOMERUN player even if I get the error window...I can live with this.
