I am getting the lip sync issues on frequency 28.5 CBS ATSC 3.0 in the Orlando -Daytona Beach market using the Flex 4k on the non DRM CBS.
I also get it on this frequency for many of the other ATSC 3.0 DRM stations on this lighthouse using a different manufacturers turner and STB. I am free to disclose the information if need.
It has plague me for two years and this the reason to purchase the Flex 4k only to see the same issues. Recordings are in sync on WKMG CBS ATSC 3.0 with the Flex 4k.
Also I test record the CBS evening news on 106.1 weekly. My last recording, which I saved, has the sound track going in and out throughout the recording. I have experience this sound issue on the HDHOMERUN player on Android, JellyFin player on Android and Wholphin player on Android. This does not happen every time I record this program so 8 assumed a bad day for the broadcast.
I checked this same CBS recording on the Windows player and the sound is not choppy as seen in the android players. Maybe it has something to do with 5.1 sound?

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off - geriakt
I split your post off into a new thread so we can better help.
1) What specific player device are you using (exact model)?
2) I would like to test your 106.1 recording here... can you please upload to a service such as Google Drive and then PM me the share link.

I am more than happy to provide as many files as you like. I will share it to my Google drive and send you a link.
I have two set top boxes I use in my house and I confirmed the choppy sound was on both using the HDHOMERUN android player as well as the JellyFin player and Wholphin player which uses the EXO player.
Stbs are
Onn 4k with Google tv14(not the pro 4k but a model about 2 years old)
and the GTMEDIA X1 set top box with Android 11 with a built in ATSC 3.0 tuner. I installed the HDHomerun Android player to play back my Flex 4 k ATSC 3.0 recording. The GTMEDIA uses a Amlogic S905y4 SoC with a built in AC4 codec, however the codec does not show up in Aida 64, but I can confirm it plays back AC4 5.1 sound.

Re: Lip Sync/Audio Off - geriakt
I recorded the same channel CBS Evening new 106.1 yesterday Aug 19, 2026. I noticed maybe two locations of sound blips or cracks, so I am assuming this is a productions issue within the ATSC 3.0 broadcast. Clearly it was not as noticeable as seen in the previous recording.
The lip sync issue is still noticeable while watching live on this ATSC 3.0 channel in central Florida on frequency 28. It tends to start watching fine but over 20 mins the sync falls out of sync. Recordings seem to have proper sync.
