Lip Sync/Audio Off Since 20260710?

Starting with 20260710 (not exactly sure), I'm having issues with my Fire TV app. The audio garbles, picture freezes, and then the lip sync is off, then the audio garbles again, picture freezes, and then the lip sync returns to normal. Rinse and repeat. Happens live or recorded, any channel, doesn't matter. Anyone else having this issue? It started doing this when the app does the HD HomeRun logo at startup instead of the setup information that used to appear at the bottom left.

I am not having this issue on my Fire TV 4K Max or my Fire Cube 3.

Okay, my App updated to 20260730 about 1/2 hour ago. The lip-sync issue seems to have corrected itself (it was horrible last night with previous software), but now the closed captions are way smaller and aren't centered anymore—they display to the left side of the screen now.

Yes I have noticed this using the HD player app on my Android 11 box. I have determined it has more to do with my Android 11 OS as other apps like YouTube and more fall out of sync too. I should also state my system has a surround sound receiver attached. In my case I have to restart my android box to correct the out of sync audio track and place my HD player settings in audio pass through to allow my receiver to decode the AC3 dd2.0 or dd5.1. Eac3 or AC4.

I bet you will see the audio track get out of wack on your fire stick in the future. Try restarting the fire stick.

Please keep us posted. I too have the same issue with the HDHOMERUN player, but also with many other apps on my Android 11 STB. I have to constantly reboot the STB to correct the sync. I am pretty confident it is the Android Box and not the Flex 4k or the Client player as my Windows 11pro client done not fall out of sync. At this point I am not willing to by another $60 Android 14 device (On Pro 4K) just to watch ATSC 3.0 channels. I will stick with old school ATSC 1.0. what a shame.

Agreed, the majority of audio sync issues with me is almost 100% with the ATSC 3.0 drm free streams. The audio sync continues with time played using the HDHOMERUN player on my Android 11 STB. The Audio sync issues are also seen in a 3rd party android player app with the ATSC 3.0 DRM free stream using the Flex 4k as the tuner. I also have another app that uses a different company ATSC 3.0 tuner and again the audio sync falls out of timing playing ATSC 3.0 DRM free and DRM streams. I don't think in my case the issue is with either one of my tuners, but with the Android 11 OS that also has a built in AC4 codec embedded in the Amlogic S905y4 SoC.
My Android STB is connected to my TV via a 2.1 HDMI cable. I have surround passthrough set up in the system settings of my 2017 Sony 4k TV and the optic cable from the TV is connected to my Surround Receiver.
My only way to fix the sync is restart the Android 11 STB from the setup restart.

That happens to me too but I really haven't brought it up since it's only 1 channel that I get (ATSC 3.0) from the Gila River Indian Reservation and I can use the FNX Fire TV App if I really want to watch something. The weird thing about my issue is that it seems to be now only channels 3 and 5 (and subs like 44.2) (ATSC 1.0) and those are all owned by Gray Media. Makes me wonder if they have some weird new encryption or flag set in their signal that HDHomeRun doesn't like. I have 3TV on in the background for the news right now as I'm typing this and it's happening. Still no callback.

Your log files provided to SD for your 2 ATSC 1.0 channels should help find that fix. It may be those channels require a codec you don't have on your fire stick and you are forced to use a software codec to transcode it in real time.

I've been able to confirm audio desync for ATSC 3.0 on a 2026 Onn 4K Pro. I just need to get out to my roof and verify it's not due to poor signal (and even if it is, that's still something for us to look at, since it should eventually recover, etc).

Well your results using the ONN 4k Pro is depressing to hear. I believe that is a official Android 14 Widevine L1 STB.
Hopefully SiliconDust can't provide some improvement or a fix.

Would you or someone else please let me know how to submit logs to SD so we can resolve this issue? I don't want to feel I wasted $200 now. I had been a legacy ***** user for a long time, but their recent lack of support for an issue prompted me to purchase this HDHomeRun in June.

Are you seeing this issue specifically on the new Onn Pro device?

I suspect there is a bug in the Onn Pro AC4 handling. I am trying to get one.
