Locked Up / Ready to Record

Post by DaveR849 »

I'm primarily watching via Fire Stick. While watching Live TV and/or Recorded shows several times a week I'll get a ready to record message during playback. Navigation to any action results in a lockup. I've checked my router, Fire Stick, Roku, Netgear and Cat 8 cables. All checked out. The only action that reestablished the network has been to power cycle my entire Entertainment node on my network and restart. Power cycling just the HDHomerun did not clear the problem. Roku and Android App also see the issue.

Any ideas?

Checking, are you using the HDHomeRun FLEX with an attached USB drive? or are you using a NAS/PC for recordings?

What kind of drive are you using?

I'm using USB w/ 6TB WD Elements WXD2D639FZ3U
To date the hard drive has been flawless, and I would note that live channels are also locking up. The HD is just over. 50% full.

From the symptom you are describing plus the diagnostic logs indicating "power on", I suspect the power adapter of the HDHomeRun is failing. The power adapter is likely shutting down causing the HDHomeRun to turn off completely, then everything tries to start back up again. The app doesn't like the HDHomeRun disappearing from the network mid playback.

Drop a quick email to support@silicondust.com and we will send you a new power adapter.
