Flex 4K Won't Detect All Channels

Post by turtleboyf@gmail.com »

Hello, I recently updated my HDHomeRun Flex4k firmware to 20260326 and now when I do a channel scan i'm only picking up on two channels. I went and got my old HDHomerun Dual out of the closet and attached it to the exact same antenna with exact same wires and I'm detecting over 22 channels and they all tune in just fine. For the past few years my Flex 4K seemed to have better reception than my dual and detected far more channels as well. Anyone know why all of a sudden my Flex4k stopped detecting my channels? Seems related to firmware update but maybe a coincidence?

The firmware does not affect reception.

Can you please enable "send diagnostic information" in the settings menu of the HDHomeRun app, then run a channel scan. Once complete please post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun and I will take a look.

It looks like a hardware fault. Drop a quick email to support and they will help... it will need to be returned so we can repair or replace.

thanks for checking; any possibility that my firmware update is what caused my hardware issue? I think I was a year or two out of date for my updates and then when I updated the other night that's what seemed to have set off this chain of events. Either way, I submitted a support ticket; hopefully they can take care of me. I really appreciate the super quick answers here tonight.

No, not related to the firmware update.

Hi, I had a very similar thing happen to my Flex 4k last night. I recently updated to the latest firmware and shortly after I noticed a huge drop in the signal strength across all channels. My other two HDHomeruns did not have the same issue and I also moved one of the working ones to the same antenna connection as the Flex 4k and it had no issues. I went ahead and turned on send diagnostic information and did a channel scan with all three of my devices including the Flex 4k. The ID of my Flex 4k is 10A21DAF. I also opened a support ticket #252894 but have not heard back from support yet. Unfortunately my device is out of warranty, so I'm not sure what my options are. Any chance this could be a similar issue to the one originally posted here?
