Just lost all but a handful of Chanels

Post by cbu »

Longtime user of Homerun (HDHR3-CC), SW version 20210301 (1), MacOS Mohave 10.14.6

Just lost all stations above channel 34, when selected I get: "Unable to play channel: Timeout error."

Reboot, power cycle etc. no change.

No recent change to my setup. Provider is Verizon FIOS.

Ideas?

I'm still getting local channels on my Primes but none of the "cable" channels work. My HDHR4-2US Connect tuners are still getting locals on QAM as well. I think Fios finally killed our CableCARDs. Not happy about it but they have been warning us for a long time.

What I read somewhere was that half of Verizon would be losing all qam by July this year and the other half would be by July next year and that also mentioned a couple of months keeping the clear qam during that switch while people realize the retirement of cablecards is real and one "must" get an iptv capable box but I read somewhere else that clear qam might stay for existing customers with working onu's (the part that puts qam on coax) but they are switching to ont's that have no onu (these typically allow speeds >2Gbps)

I had also heard some rumors they may drop tv entirely and have people switch to other sources to get their streaming (even of live).
