I've searched the forums, and cannot find an answer for this, so if there is one, please point me there.
I am wanting to use the HDHomeRun Windows app to access my device across subnets. Most of the devices I want to access HDHR from are on the same subnet (where I keep my IOT devices for security purposes) so no issue, however, I have another subnet where I have a device I'd like to be able to access my HDHR device. The windows app cannot discover the device, however, if I leverage PLEX or VLC, I am allowed to indicate the device's IP address and access it. Why is there no option to manually set the IP address in the HDHR windows app? I would much rather use the app vs PLEX or some other app.
Windows App no manual IP address entry
Re: Windows App no manual IP address entry
Unfortunately that is not an option in the HDHomeRun app at this time.
Re: Windows App no manual IP address entry
If your network supports multicast IPv6, and multicast forwarding (and proper network equipment should), it should (in theory) all "just work". Check with your router/gateway vendor as to how to configure such support (often using names such as a pim router).rpw05 wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 11:07 am I've searched the forums, and cannot find an answer for this, so if there is one, please point me there.

Yes, it does, and no, it does not work. If someone has gotten this to work, I'd like to hear the specifics, thanks!
