HDHomerun refuses to record

Greetings.

My HDHomerun device has decided it no longer wants to record any shows. When I first set it up it worked flawlessly, but has now ceased recording. I have enabled send diagnostics. Please help.

The record engine is not discovering your HDHomeRun tuner.

Does the HDHomeRun app on the same PC detect the tuner and play live TV?

Actually, no. I can use the app from my tv and other pcs on my network. But when I downloaded the app on this pc, it does not see the tuner but running the setup on that system shows all 4 tuners.

First thing to check is to right click on the Start menu icon and select Network Connections, then at the top look under Properties and make sure it shows "Private network". If it's Public, some firewall configurations can block discovery of the HDHomeRun.

If it is already set to Private, check the network settings for one of the devices that does find the HDHomeRun and see if it also has an IP address that starts with 192.168.1. If it is in a different range, then you have multiple networks in use and the PC is connected to a different one from the HDHomeRun and that is why it can't find it.

Third, if the PC is using a VPN, check its settings for an option to hide the PC on the local network and disable that, or one to allow access to local network devices and enable that. Most consumer-grade VPNs block local things by default when connected, as they are basically designed with the assumption that they are being used to secure connections on an unfriendly network (public wifi) and that you don't want any interaction with that network besides using it to get to the VPN. That's fine when it's true, but when you're on your own network and need access to things on it, not so fine.

Seems to be my vpn blocking it. I have split tunneling enabled and everything honerun related passing through, but it's still blocking it.
