EPG123 Guide data from Silicon dust stopped working with: HDHomeRun DVR Service is not active

Post by CBRworm »

I'm still using WMC w/ 3 HDHR Prime devices, so 9 tuners. I use EPG123 to get the guide data from SiliconDust. It's been maintenance free for probably 12+ years.

The troubling line in my log file is:
[ INFO] HDHomeRun DVR Service is not active.

Previously, it said:
[ INFO] HDHomeRun DVR Service is active.

I've never used the HDHomeRun DVR, but I paid for it many moons ago. Do I need to switch to Schedules Direct?

Sounds like your DVR Service with SiliconDust has expired.

You might have had an "early-access" account, which is like having one of the kickstarter accounts from about 10 years ago, where it has been getting free service while we tried to get CableCARD DRM recording working. 10-ish years later, with CableCARD basically disappearing from cable providers, and us clearing out the last few units we can find, we will eventually transition those accounts to being normal paid accounts.

That hasn't happened yet, but we did try to clean up the database of accounts that were inactive, to prepare for that, and it might have caught your account by accident. I see that you did go ahead and purchase a new DVR subscription, so I went and added some bonus months to that, just in case we jumped the gun.
