Making HDHR-4K More Portable

Post by Trip »

I've been carrying around an HDHR Flex 4K with me lately for collecting data on ATSC 3.0 (and ATSC 1.0) signals. To make it work, I have it connected to a battery pack with an internal inverter, so I'm essentially going from DC to AC and then plugging in the HDHR's power brick to convert the AC back into DC.

I'd prefer to use a smaller, lighter, and cheaper battery pack and just have it feed DC power directly into the HDHR. And that would also make it somewhat more portable than it is now. Has anyone else done this before? If so, what equipment did you use to make it happen?

Maybe a USB battery that has a high current 3A output so you could use of these:

Some LiIon Car Battery Jump Starter Battery Packs have regulated 12V and/or regulated 5V USB ports.

If you can find one that has a regulated 12V output you could plug right in.

Or if it has 5V 3A via USB it would work with the previously linked adapter.
