I recorded a Clippers @ Suns game on 11-06-25 and was able to watch part of it. I paused it, closed the windows client app, and later came back to it. But then it was gone! Or was it? Sometimes it shows up as recorded, with progress, and I can watch it again. And sometimes it is missing but shows it to be a future recording for today (even though it is NOT today, it was 2 days ago). It flips back and forth with no discernable cause at all. When I open the web interface and go to recordings, it is missing. When I look at DVR STATUS, it shows NO active recordings but 16gb recorded. When I record a game, it's about 8gb so it makes sense that 16gb is two recordings.
So what do I do??? This is obviously a bug. Using the latest version updated 08-15-25. Model: HDFX-4K.
Lost Recording - Kind Of
Re: Lost Recording - Kind Of
It looks like you have two DVRs, one is a USB drive on the FLEX, and the other is an Android device. I'm guessing the "Use this device for recordings" got accidentally enabled on an Android phone, and is not always available on the network, since the phone will try to sleep/low power mode. I bet the recording is on the Android device.
I would recommend turning off "Use this device for recordings" in the HDHomeRun app that is installed on the Android device, so that all recordings are stored on the FLEX.

Re: Lost Recording - Kind Of
OK, so I do not know how it happened, but that is indeed what the problem was. And I confirmed it by turning my phone off, and seeing my latest recording disappear from the list. So this means the recording is on my phone instead of the SSD I have plugged into my FLEX unit. SO, how can I download it if it is on my phone? It does not show in the URL (or config GUI), only in the viewing client. The game that was recorded to the HDHOMERUN attached SSD shows, but not the one recorded to my phone. And I am assuming that where it resides on my phone is not the file format I am looking to download. Please help. Otherwise, recording to a NAS (or my phone) is not a viable option obviously. THANKS!NedS wrote: Sat Nov 08, 2025 8:41 pm It looks like you have two DVRs, one is a USB drive on the FLEX, and the other is an Android device. With the "Use this device for recordings" option turned on in the Android phone, you should be able to go to this link and download the individual recordings:
http://192.168.0.2:53123
Putting them on the FLEX's USB drive is tricker. We don't have a way through the web UI to upload files, and the file format of the drive is XFS, which most computers don't support. Let me see what might be easiest.

THANK YOU! That did work! I am curious however... why does 192.168.0.2 work? I don't have a server on that IP addy on my lan. This is important because I do want to try using my NAS (OMV on a raspberry PI 5 with a 5-port SATA hat) to record the programs. And do you have a link to the documentation for that? Or is this just a quick fix? I sincerely appreciate your help!!!!NedS wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 3:21 pm With the "Use this device for recordings" option turned on in the Android phone, you should be able to go to this link and download the individual recordings:

Re: Lost Recording - Kind Of
That's the web server for the DVR that is running on your Android device. It will go away when you disable "Use this device for recordings" in the HDHomeRun Android app.HopWorks wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 4:52 pm THANK YOU! That did work! For OMV, maybe Docker: viewtopic.php?t=73757

Thank you NedS, I appreciate it! I was skeptical on a solution but you came through. Have a great weekend!NedS wrote: Thu Nov 13, 2025 4:57 pm That's the web server for the DVR that is running on your Android device. Re: Lost Recording - Kind Of
Sorry, thought I was done with this issue. So thus far, yesterday, I didn't download the recording that was on my phone in time for the next scheduled recording to start, so I left the setting on to record on this device (phone). I just figured the next recording would go there. I finished downloading the one before it and went to repeat the process this morning before finally turning it off. EXCEPT - the recording showed in the view client once, then just disappeared. Going to that link you provided (phone HDHOMERUN server at 192.168.0.2) refuses to connect, and that recording from yesterday is not showing up anywhere. It WAS there, then just vanished.
I do not know if it is just buggy or what, but it seems that with only one option that toggles on and off, I see little room for human error. It was a blowout game too. Too bad I missed it. Or did I? Have any more magical tricks up your sleave that might resurrect that recording for me? And no I did not delete it. Two+ clicks for that process makes it rather deliberate and I did not delete anything.
Thanks! Hope you can help.

Re: Lost Recording - Kind Of
I found the recording. Apparently, the 192.168.0.2 is not a static IP for the server on the phone app. I searched using Angry IP using the port number and found the server at 192.168.0.111. Anyway, Once I went to that IP, I found the recording I needed.
One thing I would like to note... the server on the phone app keeps the recording info as the "SAVE-AS" name of the file, where the pull from the HDHOMERUN unit itself does not. Different software for each feature? Bandaid fixes? Who cares, it works.
Thanks! Issue solved!
