Recording single episode not working

I have HDHR Quatro and access it via Roku devices. I have an SD hard drive connected via USB port. It works fine for Series Recordings but it does not work for recording a single episode. It appears to set it up correctly and will show up in the Tasks list. But that episode recording is never performed. I've tried several times and the result is always the same. The recording shows up in the Tasks list. Then after the scheduled time passes it is removed from the Tasks list with nothing in the Recorded list. It just disappeared. I've gotten around the problem by setting up a Series Recording, then deleting the setup after the episode I want is recorded. Has anyone else had the problem? Any solution?

One offs have priority over series so there are only a couple of things that should cause that.

First is that perhaps the roku client doesn't poke the engine after making the rule as if you scheduled something in the next couple of hours the record engine might not check the cloud prior to the recording start time. Next is if there are already recordings scheduled in the block prior to that and between recordings and live you don't have enough tuners to satisfy the request at start time (and don't forget to figure on padding when it is supposed to start as pre and post padding can make such not be available when it is supposed to kick off). I don't know the current state of such but at one time back to back recordings on the same channel would always have precedence.

I did some more testing and found the problem appears to be that if I don't change any of the defaults (e.g. 30 seconds before, etc) before clicking Save the episode doesn't record. I tried several different attempts on different channels and future times. The one common element to all the attempts is that they recorded only if I first changed one or more of those default settings. Rather strange "bug" but at least I know how to get a single episode to record.
