Question on splitters

I have a HDHomeRun Duo doing nothing. I was wondering if I can put a splitter on my Flex 4 and add the Duo so I have 6 tuners? Or would the decrease in signal strength produce bad reception? The Flex 4 antenna has an amplifier at the antenna and gets strong reception.

I also have an extra antenna in my attic doing nothing as well. I can buy another amplifier and have the Duo on a line by itself - but that's a lot of extra work.

Yes, you can split the signal, before it gets to your current device.

Anytime you split the signal, there's going to be a loss of 3.5dB. Will that loss be problematic? Probably not, but give it a try and see what happens.

Before you add the splitter, I would look at the signal strength on the web page for your Flex 4. Look at it again (for the Flex 4 and the Duo) after you have added the splitter. You should see the signal strength drop a bit, but hopefully not too much. I think the rule of thumb is to try to keep signal strength to 90% or more.
