Hi, I have the HdHomerun Connect Quatro.
I have not used it for a while. I updated firmware which might have been a mistake.

I thought before it would give me the signal strength of the channels after a scan? But it does not allow that now?

How do I see thesignal strength?

This will help in placing my attenna.

inthe hdhomerun app it shows some info, like 3 red bars, 4 green bars... I am assuming 4 green is good, no idea what 3 red bars mean, but I am guessing not good.

I believe it used to have signal strenght 72% or 45% or something like t hat.

Is there still a way to see that? if not, know of a 3rd party app that works with hdhomerun that does show signal strength?

If you have an iPhone or iPad, the SignalGH app is well worth the $2.99 that they charge. There are videos on youtube that show how to use all of the features.

On Windows you can use HDHomeRun Config GUI to see real-time signal information from any physical channel you select.

Where is " HDHomeRun Config GUI "

I am on windows 10, when I search I find the homerun app, and it loads into the channel guide. Can not get to a config from there.

Is is a seperate app? Is it somewhere on my hard drive? I do not have a program files silicondust folder.


I remember using something like it years ago, but I am not sure if they removed it for the new useless app.

Any help is appreciated!

If you installed the full windows software package (not just app) it will be on the drive... in windows it will typically be in
"c:\Program Files\SiliconDust\HDHomeRun" or something like that.

Last I noticed such, it appears a channel scan must be ran after a firmware update to populate the previous values in the lineup to be used (i.e. in app). Note using those arent that great for aiming an antenna as those levels will constantly be changing somewhat so config_gui (or other signal monitor) would be better for that purpose)

Those are signal levels at the time of the last channel scan. Number of bars is signal strength, color is signal quality. The idea of those stats is to give a rough idea of signal level, for example, this can show if a second tuner is getting a given channel better, for favoriting (gives tuner a higher priority)/blacklisting.

A live signal screen, to help with things like antenna alignment, is planned for the future, but I don't have an ETA on that. It's not something the official HDHomeRun app has had before.

You can also see signal stats by tuning something in the app and then looking at the web UI. For example, the first tuner will show stats at http://hdhomerun.local/tuners.html?page=tuner0 . You will need to manually refresh this page, but we are considering trying to do a web option that will refresh on its own.
