Ethernet failing to connect

Post by Simmers »

Seeing a green light then about 3 red flashes.

Unit is a HDHR5-2DT
Is there any way to see what’s going wrong?

I’ve tried different ports, and cables. Even cables I know work (connected to other devices) are failing to register.

Feels like the board is stuffed somehow. Couldn’t see any obvious damage or issues. Alternatively it needs a firmware reset but can’t do that without an IP correct?

Does it keep flashing red, or does it occasionally show the green light? It might be rebooting, due to a failing power supply.

It was continually flashing red. Green light showed up consistently every few seconds (every 3 or so red lights).

If the power supply is unplugged it went solid green for a few seconds before reverting to flashing.

I tried a brand new power supply (2a not the 1.5 required unfortunately) but now it’s not lighting up at all. Joy.

Using a 5V 2A power adapter is fine
