Update: I think I narrowed it down to when I don't have anything recorded it goes to the guide but when I do have something recorded it does in fact go to the recorded section.Jsherman wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 9:57 amHmm. To add to this, I am also seeing this on my windows machine as well. I have rebooted the docker on my server and reinstall on Windows, same issue.Thunderthud wrote: Fri Aug 29, 2025 6:30 amI have it opening fine on all of my devices. Interesting. I have not had that issue on my RockTek G2 (SEI804) or Xiaomi TV Stick 4K.
All are in recorded view on startup.

It was like the app was ignoring me. I could switch to recordings and then attempt to get into the guide, but the selected channel would not enter.nickk wrote: Sun Aug 24, 2025 7:22 amWhen you tried to select the channel what happened? Re: New guide-centric UI approach
I like the new guide (202508122 UI beta on iOS). I have always preferred text to icons.
One problem is difficulty positioning the range. It is nearly impossible to position a specific channel at the top of the list. The list keeps jumping.
Something that is needed is a way to jump to a specific date and time. It gets very tedious ‘pushing’ the list to the left to access a later date/time.

Maybe just a personal preference....but...
Placing the program title in the middle of the guide time block is annoying for me. Makes it harder to quickly see what is on now and coming up later at a glance. Any chance of moving it back to the traditional left justified position in the time block? Thanks.

And while you are at it, put the LIVE option back. More and more we are just changing things to change them. Let's get over that once and for all.
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
That makes some sense. I will raise the question internally on Monday.john7259 wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 6:47 pm Maybe just a personal preference....but...

If you are using a remote you navigate to Guide and press OK twice.jph1589 wrote: Fri Sep 05, 2025 7:25 am And while you are at it, put the LIVE option back. More and more we are just changing things to change them. Let's get over that once and for all.
If we added a Live option it would take 1 extra navigation press to get there to save 1 OK press... so the same number of button presses.

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
This happened to me today but guide was a bit funny. The stream had been on for several hours (should have been just under 4 as it was showing the 9pm shows and updated to 12:30am shows (my flex's logs show 4:14 utc and 7:37utc for the tuning times)... initially the guide displayed the stale data from hours ago but updated immediately then wouldn't let me return to same channel, even after moving up and down or going to recorded so I selected another channel and changed back. i have not been able to recreate nor have i ever seen such behavior before (including guide refreshing like that).nickk wrote: Sun Aug 24, 2025 7:22 amWhen you tried to select the channel what happened? You sound like you are adding something that was never there. The LIVE option was there until last week when you made it disappear.

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Disregard!! I just got home and looked at the first two items and did not know what time the games started and when will the next game start. I did not scroll down far enough.....
https://imgur.com/HEB8ah4
It is now NFL season again.... There are usually 4 games in my area that show on any given Sunday......... Problem that I have encountered, there is NO TIME shown?????? I am looking at the task, which should definitely show the time that the game starts. Under the Recorded tab, there is NO TIME shown........The Guide takes tooooo long to scroll down and across to find when the next game is to be played..........
Please insert the time the event starts...........
Thank you. If this has already mentioned, I apologize in advance.

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
He's saying that when you select "GUIDE" at the top, the last viewed channel is automatically highlighted in the guide itself, so you only have to press the select/ok button a second time, and you will go to the same place that "LIVE" would have taken you.jph1589 wrote: Sat Sep 06, 2025 3:36 pm You sound like you are adding something that was never there. Re: New guide-centric UI approach
A couple more observations on the guide....
- Navigation sounds are turned off (I actually like them). Possible to observe the system level setting?
- The last time block is smaller than the first two.....just looks a bit strange.
Finally, am I imagining things or was there a release where returning to the guide would overlay a playing channel and keep the channel playing? I really like that feature. If it was removed, any chance of adding it back as an option?
Thanks again.

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
Here are some issues I'm having with the current version on a Google TV device (20250708 App / 202508122 (UI) (beta):
- Can't tune to channel via guide that is currently recording
- If the app is not closed when the guide is up, it will lock up the app (ongoing issue)
- Scrolling through the guide can make the highlighted channel be off the top or bottom of the display
- After tuning to a new channel, the bottom bar must be closed each time
Re: New guide-centric UI approach
I've noticed those same issues too.A. If not, they should probably just be hidden from the guide by default.

It's doubtful on the DRM channels. Just hide them in the channel list by clicking the star twice; once will turn yellow for favorite and twice will turn red to block.
