Another tuner not found situation

Post by Bazile »

Hi Folks;

Like the title says, I cant find the unit on the network after the house lost power for a few minutes. I think it has retreated to its standby address.
HDHomerun Flex Quatro
Device ID 10B1EC82
Mac Add 00:18:DD:0B:1E:C8
It is currently directly attached to eth 2 (0x9) on one of my machines for trouble shooting.
Here are the arp -a and ipconfig for that machine

Interface: 169.254.1.3 --- 0x9
Internet Address Physical Address Type
169.254.255.255 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static

It slows the port on the computer to 100 Mbps btw.
I downloaded the current setup package and the unit seems to just ignore it.
Please let me know what to try next. Thanks.

Can you please try the following:
  1. Disconnect the HDHomeRun from the PC
  2. Set Ethernet 2 back to DHCP
  3. Go into the settings for the adapter that is connected to the rest of the network and turn on internet connection sharing, sharing to Ethernet 2 if you get the list to select where to share
  4. Install Wireshark if you don't already have it installed
  5. Reboot for the changes to take effect
  6. Start Wireshark and start a capture of Ethernet 2
  7. Connect the HDHomeRun
  8. Wait 2 minutes
  9. Open HDHomeRun Setup and see if it finds the HDHomeRun
  10. Stop the capture
Assuming it doesn't find the HDHomeRun, save the capture and send it to support at silicondust dot com along with a link to this thread so we know what it is.
