Not recording network programming

Have a Flex Duo for ~3 years and has worked fine. Lately it does not record all tasked items. Local news does record, but not network programming. I have rebooted the Flex Duo with the same results. I have seen "communication error" a few times prior to rebooting. Device ID 109084B7. Running on Apple TV 4k and FireTV 4k. Apple TV version is 20250717 for both the app and UI. Appreciate your input.

Is your recording engine on the flex or elsewhere? Have you previously recorded the show? When the recording was set up did you set any specific options like recent (current season) or specific channel?

The only non-news shows I see you currently have scheduled are The Voice, which isn't currently airing, and Wheel of Fortune, which is in summer reruns until the new season starts on 9/8. Assuming you had previously recorded and deleted those episodes, they will not get re-recorded unless you had selected the option to allow them to be re-recorded when you deleted them.

Thanks for the feedback. Didn't pickup the re-run setting. What would cause the communication error? We also lost several days of recordings that were stored on the hard drive connected to the the flex. Perhaps the hard drive is going bad? ( running Apple TV app)

Yesterday, when selecting the Fire TV HD app on another TV, it said it can't find the tuners. Verified both the Fire TV and Flex were on same network. Worked fine prior to this.

Go to http://hdhomerun.local and see if there is a firmware update. There's a minor bug in the Apple TV app where the firmware notice says "communication error" instead.
