I have a channel that has a signal strength of 54% (yellow), signal quality of 85% (green), and symbol quality of 100% (green) in hdhomerun_config_gui. If I hit the "View" button it plays fine. However, if I try to play it through the HDHomeRun app on either Windows or a Chromecast it gives a black screen and then times out to "Unable to play channel: No Video Data". Do I have something misconfigured somewhere? I've restarted both the Windows and Chromecast apps several times but get the same behavior.
ETA: It is an HDFX-4K.

Re: Channel plays through VLC but not HDHomeRun app
Can you please try the HDHomeRun app on Windows again... enable "send diagnostic information" in the Settings menu.
Try the channel again then post back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun.

Done. Is "10A1D9C2" the device ID that you are looking for?
Re: Channel plays through VLC but not HDHomeRun app
There is definitely nothing there for 8.3:
ch=8vsb:183000000 lock=none ss=38 snq=0 seq=0
My guess is this channel was picked up in an earlier scan before the antenna was moved.
Can you please run a new channel scan.

Re: Channel plays through VLC but not HDHomeRun app
It's working now after a rescan. I think what happened is there are two sources of channel 8 here, one on VHF physical channel 8 which is fringe and almost never there and one on UHF physical channel 17 which is much better. The previous scan must have locked onto channel 8 during one of the brief moments that it comes in. I was looking at channel 17 on hdhomerun_config_gui.
I should have figured that out myself. Sorry to take up your time, and thanks for your help.
