Curious as to why I can't receive one particular channel

I am trying to figure out why I can't receive Ch 29. Ch 8 comes in fine and it's right next it. I've got the Flex 4k hooked up to a Televes Elipse Mix antenna. The Flex doesn't pick it up and the TV digital tuner doesn't pick it up. It's only 11 miles away. Is there something I'm missing?

If you're talking about WOMS-CD on RF 29, that's only a 0.4 kW signal. Also, the RabbitEars data for it got screwed up when WXSP-CD and WOLP-CD converted to ATSC 3.0 for Grand Rapids, while their former simulcasts including Muskegon's WOMS-CD remained ATSC 1.0.

Its entire lineup is carried by other signals, so it's possible WOMS-CD is being hidden as a duplicate:
15.1 MyNet is also on WOOD's RF 34 Muskegon translator
15.2 Nest is also on W18ER-D (WXMI's Muskegon repeater)
15.3 Comet is also on WWMT's RF 8 signal

OK, so is there a way to fix it?

CBS is the one major network I can't get. The WMMT transmitter is just far enough away that I can pick it up some times, but most of the time I can't. WMOS-CD rebroadcasts CBS and is 11 miles away instead of 55. I plugged the antenna direct into the TV and still can't get WMOS-CD.

Also I do get 15.1 and 15.2

Since kyl416 stated rabbitears has some incorrect information I can't say for sure but from rabbitears it looks like nearly all the display channels for woms has the same 29.1 number. And the way the modern method of tuning works for the scan as well as many tv's it may not add the additional 29.1's thus you only get 1 stream from that physical channel.

I would confirm by using config gui and tuning physical 29 and see what it lists as subchannels. If it is indeed there, other apps that don't rely on the scan should be able to be configured correctly but anything reliant on the scan won't work.

I don't get anything when tuned to 29. Best I get is a signal strength in the 80% range, but no subchannels listed.

So I'm basically hosed then right?

Unless WOMS-CD converted to ATSC 3.0 without properly notifying the FCC, it doesn't rebroadcast WWMT/CBS.

The RabbitEars data for WOMS-CD and the other repeaters are screwed up since they're still flagged as repeaters of WXSP-CD which converted to ATSC 3.0 and now carries NextGen simulcasts of MyNet and the Big 4. WOMS-CD likely kept the previous lineup of .1 MyNet, .2 Nest and .3 Comet, but RabbitEars doesn't have anyone to confirm the current lineup for each signal.

WOMS-CD is also only a 700 Watt signal that transmits from only 458', so even 11 miles out can be too far away.

Poking though our guide database, I can't find anything to suggest WOMS-CD is broadcasting ATSC 3.0. There are a couple devices that are or were receiving it in ATSC 1.0, and only a single channel, 29.1, was reported. I would guess that is a repeat of WXSP 15.1 but have no way to confirm. Your best options for CBS would be the ATSC 3.0 version on WXSP's actual transmitter or a separate high VHF-only antenna aimed at Kalamazoo.
