ability to record and play back DRM stations if broadcast station agrees ?

Exactly - that was the whole point of that section of my presentation. The argument I made was that DRM is the root cause of the consumer adoption problem. There is a very good chance consumers have the equipment they need today to watch ATSC 3.0 content inexpensively if only there wasn't a ...

Personally I am not a fan of HDR - it seems to have a big downside with little benefit.

Operating in SDR mode will never be worse than HDR mode for content with normal range brightness and is often better than HDR mode for content with normal range brightness (ie most content).
