Re: T2, PBTV, GMLOOP, and ROXi Internet Channels
Oh, so is ATSC 3.0 “radio” yet another new broadcast feature?
I recall over a year ago having some ATSC 3.0 stations that were just music genres. I don’t have them anymore, but perhaps that’s yet another form of ATSC 3.0 “radio”? I’m guessing it’s different because that was already supported ...

Re: T2, PBTV, GMLOOP, and ROXi Internet Channels
Thanks for taking the time to educate us in the different technologies and their potential uses/abuses.
Maybe there could be a way to enable it on some channels and not others, depending in user preferences?

Re: T2, PBTV, GMLOOP, and ROXi Internet Channels
Right. Not trying to jump this to the top of the ToDo list. But I would like to see what ROXi and Gameloop are and see new offerings when they appear in my area in the future.
FM radio could be interesting as well. I assume that would be HD Radio?
Also, where did Nick say it just missed making it ...

Re: T2, PBTV, GMLOOP, and ROXi Internet Channels
Hey everyone, if I was SD, I’d look at the responses to this thread to gauge the priority for working on this capability. I’m sure it wouldn’t take precedence over getting DRM working, if there was something they could work on for that. So maybe respond with whether you personally would like to see ...

T2, PBTV, GMLOOP, and ROXi Internet Channels
A while back when there was only the T2 internet channel I inquired about support and it sounded like SD could support these types of ATSC 3.0 stations, but didn’t know users were interested.
Now there seem to be more of these types of stations and I still cannot see them on my HDHR 4K Flex device ...

Re: New guide-centric UI approach
I believe I have the latest firmware and the latest UI version applied to my HDHR Flex 4K. When in the guide, I’m able to scroll down all the way to my Fox 145.1 channel and I can see there are channels below it like 145.100 and I know they are there, but I cannot scroll to them in the interface on ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
In theory having such a digital signature is a good thing so you know the broadcast came from the broadcaster. In the past only a few rogue broadcasts have ever happened. I believe Lon mentioned those occurrences. So it is useful from a repudiation standpoint. However, if it’s used to force DRM ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
So then I guess if the HDHomerun Flex 4K/HD Homerun app doesn’t receive DRM capabilities from A3SA and high noon was to go into effect, all ATSC 3.0 stations, regardless of whether they use DRM encryption or not, would become unwatchable for us?

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Maybe I have the wrong take away from this is being done, but it seems like perhaps there’s an analogy:
DRM is to Encryption as High Noon is to Digital Signature.
So in the case of DRM, the data is encrypted and the playing software can’t decode it unless the A3SA gives them the keys to decrypt and ...

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
Thanks for correcting me. So what is the expected behavior of the HDHR app on all supported platforms should “high noon” get turned on at some point? Perhaps many stations are already compliant with the requirements for “high noon”?

Re: HDHomeRun 4K is Nextgen TV Certified
I’ve been catching up on the “high noon” discussions for ATSC 3.0. Setting aside whether we agree with whether the high noon should or shouldn’t happen, does the fact that the HD Homerun Flex 4K device is Nextgen TV Certified mean that we will be able to watch channels that jump through the “high ...
