I think "Recent" and "Upcoming" is a good idea.

IMHO, I think "Recent" with without one upcoming and "Upcoming" without one recent would be fine and perhaps more clear. IE don't blend the two a bit together.

Like you suggested, "Recent" would list a dozen or so episodes recorded; and "Upcoming ...
