Re: reception issue

One of the biggest issues i often see is caused by wifi "mess" (mesh). Such is good for internet content that can be resent if needed but for live tv, since data can't be resent, it is often a nightmare (wifi gets worse for such as more devices are added including the extra devices you added to crea...

Re: No hdhr detected (Windows 10 download install) AirVPN issue

Hopefully at some point there will be an option for it to also check for beta firmwares and/or manually check for available updates (including beta) as typically it won't update to a beta version then let one choose to do so (at one time I think it did present betas if on beta) and there are occasio...

Re: Decoding Local TV

What do you mean by decode... both will work fine for US OTA stations. From your other thread, it sounds like you were having issue with your computer, not the device and needing codecs. Have you run a channel scan? Have you installed the mpeg2 codec from the windows store? Have you installed and ru...

Re: Internet down and HDHomerun App on Android TV OS not working

Is that completely true for the new UI... with the old UI it was still expected for channels to be listed and be able to be tuned (just no guide data) as some actually use the devices without internet access and that should be fixed. I think there is need for new apps with a built in "backup" UI cho...

Re: Couple issues

Which is correct as it found them... disabling does NOTHING for the modern apps which discover the tuners on their own. It detects any tuner that it can find on "any" network the client is attached to... there is no way to disable other than removing them from the network (or move them to another ne...

Re: Discover and DVR Questions

Currently the only way to request such would be for SD to reset such history for everything (originally it was mentioned that it could be done per series but that had been corrected that they can't but hopefully will be an option at some point in the future rather than reset everything). In theory a...

Re: Couple issues

Is it still popping up on its own (and when you start the app)? It wouldn't surprise me if the old tuners are not listed and may have been removed already but then the screen shouldn't pop up unless you actually chose to go there or if it found another device or not finding a known device. The trash...

Re: Couple issues

The setup program is mainly for the legacy methods of tuning and many still use it to upgrade firmware or install/enable the DVR. It is also necessary if one has a legacy tuner to run a scan on the legacy device so SD can provide a lineup to the modern apps. The DVR and official apps use the modern ...

Re: Couple issues

wrong place... and that wouldn't disable from the app seeing them if on as the app uses broadcast discovery. When you registered the dvr (if you have had it for awhile) you went through an email link that discovered all tuners on your network and puts them on your account... those other tuners are s...

Re: UI ver. 0814 (early access) crashing

I only get the exit when I hit back when on the error screen, not when I hit back from playing video (of course if I hit back again (a couple more times) it exits). I'm just trying to get you back to a usable system on the older (non-early) UI... I know on my shield I would have to clear cache occas...

Re: Is there a HDHomeRun version of msdri.dll for Prime Tuners?

As jasonl stated cablecard tuners use the DRI (or in the case of the prime, the more "modern" method of http tuning)... I had heard that some cablecards may decode when tuning via frequency (i.e. through bda) but most require tuning by virtual channel number on any non clear qam channel (though when...

Re: UI ver. 0814 (early access) crashing

Like I said, it is the only way I can replicate it... is the DVR of your shield working and does it have enough disk space as one difference when it comes up on a DRM channel, is that it doesn't use the DVR for live play. Your original post stated you could hit back... from there you should be able ...

Re: UI ver. 0814 (early access) crashing

Signcarver pointed to what we think the issue is. With lazy loading, you literally just don't load elements of the UI that are off the screen which speeds up loading, and if the app tries to start loading a channel that's off the default starting list, it may be causing problems. We also are not ab...
