Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

Your local TBD subchannel carries MyNetworkTV's programming during primetime, since MyNetworkTV is one of the Big 6 networks, Gracenote and most cable and satellite providers identify stations like that by their MyNetworkTV affiliation. Check what the schedule has tonight between 7pm-9pm CT, if you ...

Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

If you're seeing cartoons on the schedule for Pop, I wonder if they put the kids channel POP UK (POP - 33638), instead of POP USA (POPSD - 16715)

Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

It doesn't matter if you subscribe to Variety Plus, on digital cable the higher package channels are encrypted and require a cable card, DTA or cable box and wouldn't be availble with ClearQAM tuners like the Connect. If they had all of the Variety Plus channels in the clear, anyone with a QAM tuner...

Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

For CMT, it sounds like they mapped the guide data for CMT Canada (CMT - 15072) instead of CMT USA (CMTV - 10138)

For channel 4, depending on what your provider uses to power their scrolling guide, it should be using PRGU (14781) or ZAP2IT (24634)

Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

The 5000s aren't real channel numbers. They are fake numbers the HDHomeRun uses when it detects unencrypted channels with no corresponding virtual channel mapping and can change each time you do a scan if something new appears unencrypted. On digital cable sometimes they are actual channels that for...

Re: Long lines cable guide data missing

(note the lineup I get from gracenote doesn't have the .0 so they may not have been able to match a known lineup). That's because Gracenote flat out refuses to support subchannel numbering on cable and satellite lineups, even though for over a decade both DirecTV and Dish have used subchannel numbe...

Re: Zoom vs Stretch/Wide in HDHR apps

Here's a reverse situation for the Philly area. Local Now is distrubuted as 4:3 network with 14:9 letterboxing, but WDPN 2.7 has it set to 16:9 so everything appears stretched: https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20210622YPiLUAMp (There's a bunch of pixelation/breakup right now because a storm system is ...

Re: FM radio

In order to support FM they would need a chip capable of demodulating analog signals, and something to transcode the analog FM audio to a digital audio codec before it can be sent over your network in a MPEG transport stream.

Re: An unplayable channel on LG TV HDHR app

It's not that it's treated in a special way, it's that it's set to the wrong value for that subchannel. PIDs point to specific data inside the transport stream of an ATSC 1.0 signal, and 0x0000 is the PID for the Program Association Table. The PCR is the Program Clock Reference which is part of the ...

Re: ATSC 3.0: Sacramento, CA

Since it's the same content as the ATSC 1.0 feeds, just use whatever 3rd party application you are using to map the existing guide data entries for KCRADT, KXTVDT, KOVRDT, KUVSDT, KTXLDT and KQCADT to the fake 100 numbers. Schedules Direct isn't going to screw up their OTA lineups and break other im...

Re: Televes Avant X - potential issues

Using a user-agent whitelist/blacklist is easier said than done, especially when you're using 3rd party platforms that don't offer device model specific user-agents to indicate which codecs are supported, or when it's a platform that uses HDMI passthru to decode AC-4. - They won't be able to detect ...

Re: ATSC 3.0 Buffalo NY Feed Issue?

The press release indicated that the 4K Olympics coverage is going to be limited to NBCU's cable/sat/telco/streaming partners again this year. (i.e. Xfinity X1, Altice One, FuboTV, DirecTV, Dish, FiOS, etc) There's currently not enough bandwidth for 4K OTA when most ATSC 3.0 stations are sharing wit...

Re: Televes Avant X - potential issues

If this were the case why bother adding 100 and confusing the heck out of everybody? Because many players, including those powered by FFmpeg like Plex, can't handle AC-4 audio, so people still need to the ability to tune to ATSC 1.0 channels. They said they are also working on a way to specifically...
