Re: Optimizing OTA HDHR Signal Strength/Quality

Suggest aiming for 90%. Nothing is gained (sorry) by hitting 100%.

Re: Current state of Apple TV app

We just got an Apple TV, and the main pain point for me is the video delay skipping forward/backward. The audio skips instantly, but the video takes 3-5 seconds to catch up. We previously had an Nvidia Shield TV, and skipping was instantaneous. Is there a reason the platform struggles in this area?...

You need to be running Roku OS 13 which was released a few weeks ago. Check for updates for the Roku.

Re: HD Homerun App V89.0 not working with Roku Player

I am still experiencing the same result - "When HD Homerun App is selected, display briefly shows discovering devices, then returns to Roku Home Screen showing HD Homerun App icon". No Joy. Please update to 20240524. It will still fail but it should now either show an error message or exi...

Re: ION Channel 1224 Reduced Screen Size

Black bars top, bottom, left, and right? That usually means the station is encoding the video in 4:3 aspect. When displayed on a 16:9 screen there is not enough content to fill the width of the screen so player has to add black bars left and right. Then the station puts plays 16:9 content reduced do...

Re: SiliconDust LTE Filter Signal Loss

LTE interference can knock out any TV channel regardless of the frequency the TV is on...

LTE may be strong enough to saturate an amplifier, or cause an auto-gain amplifier to back off to the point any TV channel has problems.

Re: SiliconDust LTE Filter Signal Loss

The pass-band loss is minimal. If the antenna already has a 608MHz pass 618MHz reject filter then you should be good. If you want additional filtering... Normally you want the filter before the amplifier like you have it but given that the antenna already has a filter you could move the Silicondust ...

Re: App closes when I click on Live TV

We are not tracking any issues like that with the current release.

The HDHomeRun app uses hardware/GPU acceleration for video playback... the first thing to do is to go to the AMD/Intel/Nvidia website and download the latest drivers for your video card.

Has it progressed in the last 2 months ??
Yes. 1080i60 to 1080p60 deinterlacing is working internally. We are working through an issue that is holding up the release.

Re: Can hard drive go to sleep? Win10 computer will continue running

Generally no. If the hard drive takes longer than about 10s to start up recordings will fail. It also means a bad user experience waiting to be able to start playing back a recording.

Re: A3SA maintenance notice - May 29

I don’t even get why they’re telling us this. I’ve gotten to the point my Homerun is now sitting in my rack at home unplugged because at this point, it’s a brick and a waste of electricity. Even if some of your ATSC 3.0 channels are DRM encrypted your HDHomeRun 4K has all the features of the HDHome...
