Re: ATSC 3.0: Greensboro, NC

AC4 is working great on these channels on my WebOS app on my LG GX tv. It does not appear to be working (5.1 surround that is - I have AC4 audio on every ATSC 3.0 channel I tune) on AppleTV 4K, FireTV 4K or ChannelsDVR. Is this normal or a know limitation / issue? I have an LG SP9YA Soundbar with r...

Re: ATSC 3.0 audio upgrade (beta)

Mac information:

ATSC 3.0 audio support for Mac is going to require MacOS 10.14 or newer. The HDHomeRun app will continue to support MacOS 10.11 and newer non ATSC 3.0 content.

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

To further complicate things, I think the Sony TVs supports converting PCM to DD+ to output to the AVR. You get the DD+ light on the AVR even though the source material isn't DD+ so it isn't passthrough.

Re: Corrupted recordings in NPVR

Reception is fine but there are problems getting video to the target device.

Seeing a number of messages about Ethernet link going down then coming back up, in one case in 10baseT mode. How is the HDHomeRun connected to your network?

Re: Stutter/Audio drops

The logs show good reception on the 533MHz channel most recently viewed.

Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" in the HDHomeRun app.

It should be under Settings, Sound, Speakers (default is TV Speakers). The screenshots I found were for a 2018 TV so it is possible something has changed in newer models.

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

My Sony TV is set up correctly. Passthrough is passthrough. How exactly can passthrough not be correct when it does nothing but send the audio through unaltered? Here are some other apps that I use regularly that work correctly on the TV via HDMI passthrough. No issues at all. Netflix Disney+ Prime...

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

The HDHR app is on an Android TV. The TV has an eARC connection to a Denon AVR which has 11 speakers in a 5.2.4 configuration. The TV passes the signal unaltered to the AVR via HDMI passthrough, 5.1 in, 5.1 out. 2.0 in 2.0 out. The Android device (TV) is not set for any amount of speakers or speake...

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

Except that option B converts a 5.1 audio source to 2.0. That is a worse problem than audio input being louder. I have a lot of apps on this TV. All the major streaming apps. Not a single one operates like this. As I stated previously, I will just live with it. Really not a big deal. I was just cur...

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

The goal is the best possible video and audio quality. By default the HDHomeRun app outputs audio using AC3 passthrough so your TV or home theater system has full control over the audio rendering including volume. If you use Android to control the volume level that reaches your TV or home theater sy...

Re: ATSC 3.0 audio upgrade (beta)

We have just completed a service upgrade to fix a problem found over the weekend. ATSC 3.0 audio should be back up and running smoothly.

Re: Is there any way to lower the volume sent from HDHR?

Turning off "use AC3 passthrough when possible" will give you local volume control. Stereo-only audio with this option off... Are you using a coax digital audio or optical digital audio output port from the Android box? If yes, you either need to stay with AC3 passthrough or switch to digi...
