Here in Spokane, WA we have our fox affiliate on channel 28 and in Coeur d’Alene it’s repeater is on channel 27. Channel 28 has a signal strength (according to my TV) of about 76 and is located at 28 miles from me but plagued by intermittent interference. The CDA repeater on 27 is 8.5 miles from me and signal of 72 but is totally stable. I have tried to adjust my antenna to favor 27 but when I do I loose other channels signal quality.
On my Lg TV I can choose the channels I want and set them in favorites. Is there no way to force the HDHomerun flex 4k to look at and manually set different channels for the same station other than what it thinks is the best channel to set?
Two channels, same station.
Re: Two channels, same station.
When two channels with the same number are encountered in the channel scan, the HDHomeRun will first prefer the one with the greater vertical resolution (1080 > 720 > 480), and if they are the same will keep the one with the higher signal quality. We can check the logs to see what your HDHomeRun is seeing:
- In a web browser go to http://hdhomerun.local
NOTE: That address will go do the first HDHomeRun device found on your network. If you have more than one HDHomeRun device, use the "device ID" printed on the bottom of the unit instead of "hdhomerun" in the address. For example, if your device ID was 104FFFFF then you would go to http://104fffff.local - If it tells you that a firmware update is available, please install it
- Click "System Menu"
- Check the "Send diagnostic information" box (if this box is already checked, please un-check then re-check it)
- Go back one page
- Click "Channel Lineup"
- Click on "Detect Channels"
