HDHR-US and Roku Not Working

Post by wazootyman »

I'm a long-time HDHomeRun user (and a big fan). I started out with original HDHR-US, added the CableCard unit (since retired, sadly) and now run a Flex 4K at home.

I'm using the HDHR-US at a different location now and I'm trying to connect to it via a Roku Ultra LT. The Roku cannot find the device on the network. I have no issue connecting to the device (on the same network) via my laptop. The Roku is connected via Ethernet and I've confirmed that LAN ports are all configured properly. Both devices are on the same network/subnet.

Does the original HDHR-US work with Roku?

HDHR-US - great to hear!

Unfortunately Roku needs a newer model of HDHomeRun to work. You can use your HDHR-US with Android, Fire, AppleTV, iOS, Mac, Windows, XBox.

Are there any other models that will cause issues with the Roku? I'm looking at eBay see what is available. This is for use at a seasonal pool club, so I don't have the budget for the latest gen.

Specifically, what about the HDHR4-2US?
