Hi,
I'm experiencing a 'Stream start failed' error with my HDHomeRun HDHR-EU when connected through a Netgear GS728TPPv2 managed switch (firmware 6.0.10.26). Everything works fine when I replace it with a dumb switch or connect the HDHomeRun directly to my PC.
**Setup:**
- HDHomeRun HDHR-EU Device ID: 12103778 Firmware: 20230505
- Netgear GS728TPPv2 — firmware 6.0.10.26
- PC on port g24, HDHomeRun on port g5, router on g1
- All ports on VLAN 1 untagged
**What works:**
- HDHomeRun is detected and visible on the network
- MFDB shows multicast correctly forwarded to g5 and g24
- Direct connection PC ↔ HDHomeRun works perfectly
- Dumb switch works perfectly
**What has been tested without success:**
- IGMP Snooping disabled
- IGMP Snooping enabled with IGMPv2 Querier (IP dedicated, VLAN 1)
- Validate IGMP IP Header disabled
- Auto-Video disabled
- STP disabled
- Frame Size set to 9216
- Flow Control disabled
- No ACLs configured
- Factory reset (problem persists even with default config)
The HDHomeRun is visible on the network but stream always fails with 'Stream start failed'. No other device is using the tuners.
Has anyone encountered this issue with a Netgear managed switch ? Is there a specific configuration required for the HDHR-EU ?
Thanks

Re: hdhome run and switch netgear
What app are you using? "Stream start failed" isn't one of our error messages.
Re: hdhome run and switch netgear
Thank you Nickk for the answer.
Message is exactly :"Unable to play channel : Stream start failed" with HDHomeRun windows application (V20251227(App) / 20260219(UI)

Have you tried without jumbo frames? Jumbo frames cannot be used unless all devices on a segment support them, which in practice means jumbo frames cannot be used on most networks, especially home networks.
