Thought I found a great deal on a Sansui 32in WebOS TV. Newegg had them for around $70 last week (now around $120) so I thought I would take a shot as I wanted a webOS tv in my lab to try and develop for. On setup they have you log into LG and the app store DOES has the HDHomeRun app. Was hoping to turn on sending of diagnostics but that doesn't seem to be on lg app (my lg is in a room I don't usually enter to preserve the occupants privacy so it has been awhile since I used it).
The picture seems very clear but is not 4K (only 1920x1080) and does seem to support AC4 as on the few ATSC 3 stations I tried it played audio but unfortunately for ATSC 3.0 it shows a static image (though quite beautiful) with sound playing the in background but no video motion at all and the lg app reports it doesn't support seek on live. The mpeg2 and h.264 stations play wonderfully though. I just got it set up and tried the few stations but haven't tried recorded content yet. I also did not update the device though there was one available (that is next what I plan on doing next but have heard of webos store dropping hdhomerun from devices that haven't loaded it yet after an update so I went that route first.
The speakers seem a little "tinny" but I can't really hear well any longer and I haven't tried pairing a bluetooth headset yet or using a soundbar or other speaker system. I also think this is one of the lightest 32 inch tv I have ever picked up. I also don't like the remote (back is top left of dpad rather than bottom left and such took me forever to find).
One other thing is it takes a bit of time to "start" playing any stream and might pause a bit right after it starts but once it starts back up again it seems to work well but since I wanted to try a bunch of channels I didn't play any for a significant amount of time.
My initial impressions is this may work well for something cheap in a guest or kids room but would probably prefer something else for speakers.
