Re: Closed Captions on iPad
I have same issue on iPhone. ATSC 1.0 or 3.0 does not matter.
Re: Closed Captions on iPad
I am not seeing the issue on my iPad. What model iPhone/iPad do each of you have? What iOS version? Is this affecting both live TV and recordings or just one or the other?
Re: Closed Captions on iPad
No problems here. iPhone SE3, iOS 18.5. Tested multiple live ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 channels. No recordings to test.
Re: Closed Captions on iPad
This is on an iPad 10th generation iOS 18.5. It happens in live tv and with recordings. I’ve removed the app and reinstalled no change. I just tried it on my iPhone 12 same iOS with the same result. Same results with ATSC 1.0 and 3.0 channels.

Re: Closed Captions on iPad
Seems like closed captions actually work if they are turned on. But hitting the CC button crashes my iPhone.
Re: Closed Captions on iPad
New HDHomeRun app is out for iOS - please check for updates and let me know if that fixes the problem.

Re: Closed Captions on iPad
Thanks, this seems to work on my iPad with live tv but on recordings I can turn them on but when I turn them off it crashes the app. On my iPhone 12 on both live tv and recordings I can turn them on but it crashes when I turn them off.

Please check the app store and make sure you have the latest version of the HDHomeRun app installed.Jcbull wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 2:47 pm Thanks, this seems to work on my iPad with live tv but on recordings I can turn them on but when I turn them off it crashes the app. On my iPhone 12 on both live tv and recordings I can turn them on but it crashes when I turn them off.

Re: Closed Captions on iPad
Can you please check the app version (different to the UI version)...
Open the App Store.
Tap the icon for your account so it brings up the Account popup.
Tap Apps in the Accounts popup
Tap HDHomeRun - it should indicate which version is installed.

Re: Closed Captions on iPad
Version is 20250604 1 week ago. This is on the iPad.
The iPhone 12 wouldn’t show me the version but displayed an upgrade button. After doing the upgrade it behaves exactly like the iPad.
